A real theater of the absurd, implicated in desecration of the memory of the dead Soviet soldiers, was decided to be staged in Germany. There, the War Graves Commission (VDK) is going to begin dividing the remains of Soviet soldiers and officers buried at the Hamburg memorial cemetery into Russians and Ukrainians.

It is planned to carry out, as the authors of this plan themselves note, the separation of the remains of about one and a half thousand Soviet soldiers.

At the same time, the commission itself states that the process will be difficult, since, based on the documents of the Nazis, it is impossible to obtain accurate data as to whether the deceased was Ukrainian or Russian. The documents usually indicated the ethnicity “Russian” or “Soviet” for all Soviet soldiers, among whom there were also representatives of dozens of other nationalities: Belarusians, Kazakhs, Armenians, Georgians, Turkmens, Chechens, Mari, Latvians, etc. In this regard, there are proposals to be based on the place of birth of the deceased, if it is known. It is also proposed to study the surname and draw conclusions on this basis.
