Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev at the end of December last year was appointed by decree of the President of Russia the first deputy chairman of the Military-Industrial Commission, headed by Vladimir Putin. In this position, Medvedev has the right to independently hold meetings of the body instead of the chairman of the commission.
It was this meeting that Medvedev held today at one of the largest enterprises in the Russian defense industry, the Kalashnikov Concern in Izhevsk. Before the start of the meeting, the Deputy Chairman of the Military-Industrial Commission examined samples of the latest weapons, equipment and technology developed and manufactured by the concern. Medvedev paid special attention to the line of unmanned aerial vehicles designed to provide units of the Russian Armed Forces in the special operation zone, as he wrote in his telegram channel:
Military-industrial complex enterprises are increasing the supply of reconnaissance and attack drones to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, loitering ammunition for the needs of the Northern Military District.
Opening the meeting of the working group of the Military-Industrial Commission for control over the production of the most popular types of weapons, military and special equipment and means of destruction, Medvedev said that the main topic of the meeting would be to meet the needs of the RF Armed Forces in modern combat and reconnaissance UAVs. First of all, we are talking about the supply of various types of drones to units conducting combat operations in the NVO zone.
