As Twitchy reported earlier, New York Times opinion contributor and Democratic digital media/polling strategist Elizabeth Spiers assured us that she’s ridden the subway in New York City for 23 years perfectly safely, although she did say some douchebag tried to grab her ass once, if you even consider that a crime. That’s just life in the city.
It’s hours later and Spiers still has thoughts on the safety of the subway. Perhaps knowing what a fan of Venn diagrams Kamala Harris is, she drew up a Venn diagram of men who have an arsenal of guns and men who are afraid to ride the subway.
The Venn diagram overlap between men who amass an arsenal of guns and talk about being a brave alpha male, and won’t take the subway in NYC because they once saw a homeless person peeing there and declare it “unsafe” is a perfect circle

I’ve lived here for 23 years and grew up with guns in the nearly equal amount of time I spent in rural Alabama. I’m also 5’1” and some of you have pets that weigh more than me. And I am not afraid of the subway, big bad dudes.

I also saw just as much homelessness where I grew up but there were fewer services for them and almost none for mentally ill people. So when my veteran and conservative brother had a schizophrenic break in his 20s, there was one facility he could go to. 2 hrs away.

So no, I don’t see a homeless or mentally ill person and assume they’re gonna murder me and put them in a chokehold, (which my Army veteran big sis can do even though she’s tiny like me, so don’t start with sexist shit)

Weird that her brother and sister are both veterans, but she appears not to be…
