NORAD F-35 intercepts aircraft inside of RNC restricted airspace

NORAD said it happened around 3:30 p.m. nearly 24 miles southwest of Milwaukee.

TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. —

An aircraft entered the restricted airspace surrounding the Republican National Convention on July 17 and had to be escorted out of the area by a North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) F-35 jet.

NORAD said it happened around 3:30 p.m. nearly 24 miles southwest of Milwaukee on July 17. They responded to a Temporary Flight Restriction violation. The F-35 jet flew at about 4,000 feet and would’ve been visible…
