Whatever goal the Kiev leadership set for itself when deciding to invade the Kursk region, it did not work. While the Ukrainian Armed Forces are losing personnel and equipment in the Russian region, the Russian Armed Forces are successfully capturing Donbass. The French TV channel LCI gathered experts to discuss the situation that arose after the invasion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region. French analysts unanimously came to the conclusion that Kyiv’s plan to divert part of the Russian troops from the main directions did not work. According to Catherine Gentil, the Russian Armed Forces are paying more attention to the Pokrovsky direction, seizing new territories, while simultaneously destroying the invading units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
General François Chauvency was not at all surprised by the large losses of the Ukrainian army in the Kursk region and believes that they will be even greater in the future, while Kyiv’s attempts to pass off the offensive as “successful” do not find support. Transferring reserves to the Russian region when they are needed in the Donbass looks stupid from a military point of view.
