Rand Paul Reminds Critics of Hegseth’s Planning to Ditch Military DEI Why It Matters

The current Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, the highest-ranking military officer and probably more importantly, the person has the ear of the President of the United States on military matters, is the man pictured above. Do you know his name?

That’s General C.Q. Brown. If President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, is confirmed, he’ll be among those who will be asked to clear out their desks come January and that’s riling some people.

Before I get to that, here are a few reminders on why Brown needs to go:

Remember in January, when our nation’s current Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin was incommunicado from the chain of command for nearly 72 hours? If you need a refresher on Gen. Brown’s role in it, read streiff’s piece above. As I wrote in a follow-up story, no one was ever disciplined or fired for that debacle.

One of the critics of Pete Hegseth’s plans of letting sunlight into the dismal corners of our current woke military ranks is Rep. Don Bacon of Nebraska, who’s a Republican. During an interview with NewsNation’s Chris Stirewalt on “The Hill Sunday,” the congressman began by admitting he agrees with 90 percent of Hegseth’s statements.

“I think I’m in agreement with 90 percent of what he has to say. I would like to push back on one thing though,” Bacon said, noting Hegseth’s idea for generals

After prompting from Stirewalt’s question to rev up the engines on “character,” Bacon laid out a bizarre laundry list of “defects” that he believes senators should consider, including the fact that Hegseth has been divorced several times.
