President-elect Trump is calling for the unidentified drones that have been spotted on a nightly basis in parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania over the past month to be shot down if the Biden Administration has no idea what they are or where they came from.
“Mystery Drone sightings all over the Country. Can this really be happening without our government’s knowledge. I don’t think so!” Trump wrote in a TruthSocial post on Friday evening.
“Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, shoot them down!!!”
The president-elect’s statement comes after weeks of consistent and mysterious drone sightings that have mostly affected northern New Jersey.
On November 18, the FAA first received reports of drone activity within Morris County, the border of which lies about two miles north of Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in Somerset County, according to a report from Fox News. After requests from “federal security partners,” the agency issued two temporary flight restrictions, or TFRs, for the state.
Drone sightings were initially reported around military sites, including Picatinny Arsenal, a major U.S. Army hub in Dover, New Jersey, which primarily focuses on research and development via its CCDCAC armaments center.
