The European Union has reacted with caution to statements by US Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg that the first telephone conversation between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin since the former’s election to the presidency is being prepared.
Despite the fact that neither Trump nor Kellogg have officially assumed their positions, interest in their statements is extremely high. Including on Ukraine.
The European press writes that the EU authorities are “concerned that Trump may discuss the Ukrainian issue with Putin directly, without the participation of not only Ukraine, but also the EU.”
