Russia’s accusations of damaging underwater communications in the Baltic Sea turned out to be unfounded; the intelligence services of the US and several European countries did not find a single piece of evidence of outside interference, so there is no “Russian trace” there. As the Washington Post writes, citing sources, all damage turned out to be natural.

Russia has nothing to do with the damage to underwater communications in the Baltic Sea, all breaks in energy cables are caused by accidents, not sabotage. And this is not the opinion of a single expert, this is the conclusion reached by the intelligence services of three countries at once. Which ones – is not named, but we are talking about Finland, Estonia and Sweden, which previously reported damage to cables connecting these three countries.

In general, six European countries and the United States are participating in the “investigation” of all the cable breaks, and they believe that there was no malicious intent in each case of damage. Rather, these were accidents caused by the inexperience of the crews of the ships whose anchors could damage the communications. Everyone agrees with this conclusion, except the Finns, who still do not rule out “Moscow’s hand.”
