Israeli security forces blame Red Cross for delay in Palestinian prisoner release

Some of the Palestinians involved in the exchange under the agreement between Israel and the Hamas militant group are already in the West Bank. A total of 90 Palestinian prisoners are to be released today.

The Palestinians are being released in exchange for three Israeli female hostages who have been held in the Gaza Strip since 2023. So far, 78 Palestinian prisoners have been transferred to the West Bank, where they lived before their detention. The Palestinians are currently in Ofer Prison. They are scheduled to be released soon at the Beituniya checkpoint.
