President Donald Trump announced on Monday the immediate dismissal of the Boards of Visitors for the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Coast Guard academies. This is part of his larger initiative to eliminate “woke” ideology within the U.S. military.
“Our Service Academies have been infiltrated by Woke Leftist Ideologues over the last four years,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I have ordered the immediate dismissal of the Board of Visitors for the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Coast Guard.”
“We will have the strongest Military in History, and that begins by appointing new individuals to these Boards. We must make the Military Academies GREAT AGAIN!” Trump finished.
The Board of Visitors for each service academy functions as an oversight committee, providing independent advice and recommendations to the President, Secretary of Defense, and Congress regarding the academy’s curriculum, morale, and overall effectiveness. Members typically include lawmakers, retired military officers, and civilian leaders who review policies and ensure the academies remain aligned with national defense objectives.
