A federal judge who recently ordered the restoration of federal health agency webpages is facing renewed attention following revelations about his role in a Jan. 6 case that ended in tragedy.
Judge John Bates, who issued the recent ruling on government healthcare websites, previously presided over the case of Matthew Perna, a Capitol riot defendant who died by suicide while awaiting sentencing.
