In an escalating confrontation between the White House and mainstream media, Trump administration officials have barred Associated Press reporters from key presidential events following the news agency’s refusal to adopt Trump’s executive order renaming the Gulf of Mexico.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt defended the administration’s decision to exclude AP journalists from two Oval Office events on Tuesday, including a meeting with Elon Musk and the return of American hostage Marc Foley.
