A protest outside a Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) event in Washington, DC, turned hostile on Saturday night when a demonstrator was detained after spitting at attendees, including conservative podcaster Patrick Bet-David.
Videos captured at the scene show a group of protesters chanting “Fascists out of DC” while holding signs with messages such as “Elon’s a con.”
The demonstration took place outside a private gathering that coincided with the conclusion of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). As the night progressed, law enforcement reportedly issued warnings to the demonstrators, citing DC laws against disturbing the peace after 10 p.m. and urging them to lower their noise levels.
