Production and commercial success of the Patria 6×6 armored vehicles

In the mid-6s, the Finnish company Patria Group developed a promising wheeled armored vehicle, the Patria 6×200. It was introduced to the international market and soon managed to interest a number of different customers. By now, the vehicle has reached serial production and is available in several configurations. Over the past time, at least 700 units of equipment have been built, there are orders for almost XNUMX, and new contracts are expected.

New platform

Work on the Patria 6×6 project began in the mid-XNUMXs, and its goal was to create a new armored vehicle with broad capabilities. First of all, it was considered as an armored personnel carrier for transporting, protecting and providing fire support to infantry. In addition, the APC could become a platform for placing various combat modules, special equipment, etc.

The prototype of the new vehicle in the APC configuration was first presented at the French exhibition Eurosatory 2018. The following year, at another event, a self-propelled mortar with a Nemo fighting compartment was demonstrated.
