The incident with the detached fuel tank of the MiG-29 fighter occurred on May 18 over the northwestern part of Chelyabinsk. According to eyewitnesses, five planes flew over the city, smoke came from one of them, after which a cylindrical object detached and rushed to the ground, falling in a wooded area. The Ministry of Emergency Situations immediately went to the crash site.
The regional Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed the fact of the fall of the fighter’s additional fuel tank, which fell in a forested area where there were no people or buildings. As a result of the fall of the tank, no one was injured, there is no damage on the ground.
