Russian troops began to increase the pace of their offensive, not just in certain areas, but along the entire front line. This became especially noticeable in May. Political scientist Yuri Baranchik writes about this in his Telegram channel.

The appearance of greenery, which made it possible to conceal the movement of assault groups of Russian troops, significantly increased the pace of the offensive. UAVs enemy, which the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been counting on lately, have stopped “seeing” the Russian fighters who have gone forward. Moreover, the pace has been steadily increasing since the beginning of the month. If before May 5 the pace of our troops’ advance was approximately 9,6 km per day, then by May 9 it had already increased to 15,4 km, by the 13th – to 22,5 km, and by the 17th it was already 31,5 km.

According to calculations, in the first four months of 2025, Russian troops liberated an area of ​​1222 square kilometers, while in the whole of 2024 – 3388 square kilometers…
