Politico: US State Department Surprised by Pentagon’s Decision to Suspend Military Aid to Ukraine

The US State Department was very surprised by the  news about the suspension of military aid to Ukraine, which became known this week, writes the publication Politico.

According to the authors of the publication, this decision by the Pentagon stunned not only the US State Department, but also members of Congress, as well as American allies in European countries, since no one expected this.

The Pentagon’s decision caught members of Congress, State Department officials and key European allies by surprise.

The publication’s sources note that European officials and Zelensky’s representatives tried to find out from the Americans what the reason for such a decision was, since they were not notified about it in advance, as was usually the case.
