A number of newly-released videos show the suspected gunman who assassinated conservative icon Charlie Kirk skulking through a neighborhood surrounding the Utah Valley University campus after he fled the scene. In one video, which was captured through a home security camera, the gunman appeared to be limping.
While speaking at a news conference on Thursday morning, officials stated that the gunman fired the fatal shot from a nearby rooftop located about 150-200 yards away from Kirk’s tent. Images of the gunman’s sniper’s nest indicate that he had a clear shot on the conservative activist, who was fatally wounded by a single shot to the neck.
After taking the shot, the gunman is believed to have escaped the rooftop before fleeing through a surrounding neighborhood. Investigators on Thursday morning also recovered a weapon — an imported .30-06-caliber Mauser bolt-action rifle — which was found wrapped in a towel in a wooded area…
