Trump declassifies Amelia Earhart records

President Donald Trump is declassifying records related to aviator Amelia Earhart. 

Trump announced the move on social media last week.

Earhart, of course, is the female pilot who, in 1937, disappeared under mysterious circumstances during a flight over the Pacific Ocean.

“I am ordering…”

Trump, on Friday, released a social media message indicating that he has decided to declassify all records that the government has on Earhart.

The president wrote:

I have been asked by many people about the life and times of Amelia Earhart, such an interesting story, and would I consider declassifying and releasing everything about her, in particular, her last, fatal flight! She was an Aviation Pioneer, the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, and achieved many other Aviation “firsts.”
