FBI Fires Agents Who Kneeled During George Floyd Protest

The FBI has dismissed approximately 20 agents who were photographed kneeling during a 2020 racial justice protest in Washington, D.C., sources told the Associated Press. The demonstration followed the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police, an event that sparked nationwide protests against police brutality and racial injustice.

Initially reassigned in spring 2024, the agents have since been terminated. While the kneeling gesture was reportedly seen by some within the FBI as a potential de-escalation tactic, it also drew internal backlash. Remember how, in North Carolina, white police officers washed blacktivists’ feet?
