President Donald Trump was the man of the hour – or perhaps the century – on Monday as he flew to Israel and addressed the Knesset amid his historic Gaza peace plan, and then traveled to Egypt to attend a Middle East peace ceremony celebrating and elevating this historic moment.
President Trump spoke in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, discussing the return of the Israeli hostages by Hamas, which was made possible thanks to his administration’s tireless pursuit of peace.
“Together, we have achieved what everybody said was impossible, and at long last, we have peace in the Middle East,” he said.
Standing behind him onstage was an assembly of the world’s most well-known leaders, like Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and Middle Eastern leaders like Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
President Trump’s remarks were interspersed with moments of high praise from fellow world leaders who highlighted his sincerity and authenticity in pursuing peace above all else.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi expressed “profound appreciation” for the president’s work, and noted that Trump had demonstrated “genuine leadership” in bringing the bloodshed between Gaza and Israel to a halt.
“Let Gaza be the last of the wars in the Middle East,” el-Sisi commented.
