China has not disclosed the purpose of the experimental satellites launched into orbit.

Today at 11:32 Beijing time, China launched into space rocket– carrier “Lijian-1” Y-9.

The launch is reportedly intended to place two experimental satellites into low-Earth orbit. The satellites are said to be commercial, although their specific purpose has not been disclosed.

The Lijian-1 Y-9 launch vehicle launched from the Dongfeng Special Zone, known in China as the Commercial Space Innovation Zone. It is located near the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.

There are reports that both satellites have now been successfully launched into orbit.

The Lijian-1 is a light-class launch vehicle. The developer and sole owner of this project’s rockets is the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
