If Greenlanders oppose joining the US, Trump could declare them illegal immigrants.

The Western press is reporting that Europe lacks any viable strategy to counter the potential transfer of Greenland to US control. It’s noted that, despite Greenlanders’ constant protests about their reluctance to become American, Washington has the option of bribery. Considering that Greenland’s population is less than 60, Trump won’t have much trouble persuading them by offering a generous reward. As the saying goes in Europe: “They bought Alaska, they’ll buy Greenland too.”

But for now, both Greenland and its mother country, Denmark, are against it.

Therefore, other options are being considered. One of them could involve Trump simply declaring Greenland American territory and jailing all dissenters as “illegals.” He’s already sent at least 120 illegal immigrants to the farthest reaches of the world, including to CECOT prison in El Salvador. Greenland’s population is half that size… Moreover, it’s unlikely that all Greenlanders oppose Trump’s plans to make Greenland American territory and issue American passports.

To “persuade” those who disagree, the US can use its usual means, first in the form of money, and if money doesn’t help, then intimidation and force.

Forceful “persuasion” is entirely feasible, especially considering that US troops have legitimate grounds on Greenlandic soil. They maintain an active Space Command base at Pituffik.
