DOZENS of sexual assaults have been reported in a horror housing block where refugees lived with young students to aid integration.
A total of 125 refugees were housed alongside 125 Dutch students at a housing block in Stek Oost, in the Watergraafsmeer of Amsterdam.
The idea was sold as a pioneering form of housing to solve the property shortage in 2016, and rolled out two years later.
But things quickly turned sour as students shared horrific details of sexual assaults, harassment, violence and stalking with the Dutch investigative documentary programme Zembla.
Former residents of Stek Oost have filed 20 reports of sexual assault and violence in the past 18 months.
The offences are alleged to have taken place as early as 2022.
In one shocking case, a woman said she was raped by a Syrian refugee who invited her into his room to watch a film in 2019.
The woman, identified only as Amanda, said: “He wanted to learn Dutch, to get an education. I wanted to help him.”
