And a man in Georgia found out the hard way.
A man in Georgia who threatened to kill President Trump during a livestream has been sentenced.
Jauan Porter of Georgia was arrested and convicted last year after he threatened to take the life of President Trump during a TikTok livestream.
Local 3 News provided further details on the man’s sentencing:
A man from Floyd County, GA, has been sentenced to prison for threatening to assassinate President Donald Trump, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Jauan Rashun Porter, 30, was sentenced to three years and five months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
Porter pleaded guilty and was convicted of one count of transmitting interstate threats on October 7, 2025.
His charge stems from a TikTok livestream that took place on July 26, 2025, according to U.S. Attorney Theodore Hertzberg. Porter joined a TikTok livestream about the president, captioned “Alligator Alcatraz.”
Hertzberg said Porter commented on the livestream, “So there’s only one way to make America great and that is putting a bullet in between Trump’s eyes.”
Officials added that Porter also made several other threats to kill President Trump. But when he was asked by the livestream host about federal agents coming to his door, Porter said, “I’m gonna kill them too… and then kill myself.”
