Police arrest 3 at Portland ICE facility, say demonstrators damaged and vandalized building

Portland police arrested three people Saturday night at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in Portland after they say protesters vandalized the facility, damaged its gate and threw rocks at local officers.

A few hundred people gathered at the South Waterfront facility Saturday evening following a day of peaceful “No Kings” rallies across the city in protest of President Donald Trump.

Protesters occupied the ICE facility’s driveway and damaged the building’s rolling gate several times over the course of the evening, Portland police said.

At one point, local officers pushed protesters down the street, away from the building, while federal agents attempted emergency repairs to the gate. Protesters threw “large rocks” at the Portland police officers and Oregon State Police troopers trying to clear the area, the Portland Police Bureau said in a news release…
