Showdown: GOP Congressman Whose Wife Is Pregnant Lights Up Dem Colleague Over Abortion Comments

RedState reported Tuesday on how GOP Rep. Brandon Gill (TX-26) masterfully questioned a Democrat abortion advocate during a House hearing on the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act. Specifically, Gill repeatedly asked her about which abortion procedure was her favorite while describing in gruesome detail what happens during the various procedures.

The witness, American University Washington College of Law Professor Jessica Waters, looked visibly uncomfortable and kept trying to pivot back to the FACE Act. At one point, Gill remarked that “I wouldn’t want to talk about this either if I were you, because it’s barbaric and evil.”

Rep. Shri Thanedar (MI-10) saw the exchange on X and trotted out the tiresome war on women card. When Gill asked what his favorite procedure was, Thanedar responded by virtue signaling that his favorite was the “safe, legal, accessible” kind. He callously added, “And no amount of fearmongering by describing what goes on to a half-ounce fetus with no consciousness, self-awareness, or feeling of pain is going to change that…
