Federal prosecutors have released surveillance footage showing how Cole Allen carried out the attack at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner and how security responded inside the Washington Hilton.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro said the footage was already submitted to a federal court and confirms that Allen fired at a Secret Service officer during an attempt to reach President Donald Trump.
She said there is no evidence the shooting resulted from friendly fire.
The video is about five minutes and 42 seconds long and combines multiple synchronized camera angles.
It begins with footage from April 24 showing Allen inside the hotel gym area. Investigators say this supports the conclusion that he was familiarizing himself with the building and possibly planning the attack in advance.
