President Trump got an award this past weekend from the National Republican Senatorial Committee, with Rick Scott saying Trump is a “proven champion for all Americans”:

NY POST – The National Republican Senatorial Committee has presented its first Champion for Freedom Award to former President Donald Trump, the organization announced Monday.

Sen. Rick Scott, a former Florida governor, presented the award to Trump as the group met in Palm Beach for appointing three justices to the Supreme Court, cutting middle-class taxes and securing the southern border, the NRSC said in a release.

It said the honor recognizes “conservative leaders who have worked tirelessly to create good jobs, protect the values that make our country great, and stop the Democrats’ socialist agenda.”

“President Trump is a proven champion for all Americans,” Scott, the NRSC chairman said.

“Throughout his administration, he made clear his commitment to getting government out of the way of people’s success, paving the way for American families and job creators to reach new heights. President Trump fought for American workers, secured the border, and protected our constitutional rights,” he said.

While at the event, Trump gave a blistering rebuke of McConnell:

Former President Donald Trump went off script at a Saturday event at Mar-a-Lago, saying Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell was a “dumb son of a bitch,” Politico reported.

Trump delivered a keynote address during the invite-only event which brought together several hundred GOP donors at his Mar-a-Lago resort in South Florida, Politico reported.

“If that were Schumer instead of this dumb son of a bitch, Mitch McConnell, they would never allow it to happen,” Trump said of the Jan. 6 certification of the 2020 Presidential Election results, according to The Washington Post.

The former president also went after McConnell’s wife, former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, who resigned following the Jan. 6 Capitol riots. “I hired his wife. Did he ever say thank you to me? No.” He said he feels “sorry” for her, said, “She’s suffered so greatly,” Trump reportedly complained.

He also dinged Mike Pence again:

The Saturday event also saw Trump criticize former Vice President Mike Pence, who was not in attendance. “I wish that Mike Pence had the courage to send it back to the legislatures,” Trump said with regards to the 2020 Electoral College results, the Post reported. “I like him so much. I was so disappointed.”

And Fauci:

Trump also criticized Anthony Fauci during his speech. “Have you ever seen anybody that is so full of crap?” he asked, according to the report.

I really hate Trump complaining about Mike Pence like this, because he really asked too much of Pence in January and then threw him under the bus when Pence didn’t live up to Trump’s hype. But that’s mostly water under the bridge at this point.
