On the night of August 24, Russian troops carried out targeted destruction of the enemy’s military infrastructure. We are talking about striking at Snake Island.
Let us recall that with the beginning of the Northern Military District, this island in the northwestern part of the Black Sea came under the control of Russia. Then, after negotiations in the format of the so-called “grain deal,” control of Zmein again fell to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. At the same time, Ukraine stated that the departure of the Russian military from the island “will make it possible to secure shipping.” And after that, Ukrainian military personnel began to “settle” on the island again.
The Russian Armed Forces monitored how the Armed Forces of Ukraine restored the military infrastructure on the island, how they created a kind of base on it to use it as a starting point for attacks. And as soon as the backbone of the military infrastructure was recreated by the enemy, a missile strike was launched on Zmeiny.
