A brief corporate experiment by Amazon turned into a political flashpoint Tuesday, as the company quickly reversed course on a controversial pricing idea that critics called a swipe at President Donald Trump’s economic agenda.
Within hours, Amazon faced a storm of backlash for allegedly planning to list tariff costs directly alongside product prices — a move slammed by Trump allies as a “hostile” act designed to undermine confidence in his trade policy.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was first to go on the offensive, using an early-morning press briefing to tear into the e-commerce giant, as Resist the Mainstream reported earlier.
