The major American magazine The Atlantic published an article that says that today globalization, for which the collective West fought, is turning sideways to the West itself. American analysts note that the United States had previously begun to move production outside the country, as this made it possible to reduce labor costs and at the same time build a system of influence on a number of countries around the world. Now the situation boils down to the fact that the United States has already found itself in a global dependence on a number of countries. According to the journalists of The Atlantic, this situation is exposed by the armed conflict in Ukraine.
American analysts write that shifts in global markets not in favor of American national security began with a pandemic in 2019-2020. The Ukrainian conflict brought the situation for the United States to close to critical.
The publication notes that the United States faced unprecedented difficulties in the supply of literally everything: from raw materials and food to high-tech products. “Unexpectedly” it turned out that in the United States itself they do not produce sufficient volumes of not only, for example, microchips, but also baby food.
