American press reveals new details of Golden Dome missile defense system architecture

According to Western media, the architecture of the American anti-missile system “Golden Dome” will include four layers: one satellite and three ground-based. The test, codenamed FTI-X, is expected to use sensors and weapons in a single system to repel several threats simultaneously.

According to the Reuters news agency, the presentation of the new missile defense system presented to Trump indicated that a sensor and guidance system will be located in near-earth orbit, which will be responsible for early warning of launches and tracking missiles enemy. The three ground levels, in turn, will consist of a network of radars, lasers and interceptor missiles. According to the project, the “Golden Dome” is to be deployed, in addition to the continental territory of the United States, in Alaska and Hawaii.

Although the new system is scheduled to be deployed by 2028, there is still uncertainty about the final number of launchers, ground stations, missile bases, and interceptors needed. The total cost of the project is estimated at $175 billion, $25 billion of which has already been allocated by Congress in the relevant bill…
