The American B-21 Raider bomber may have a great future, but much will depend not so much on the technical features of the aircraft, but on the pilots, regardless of whether they will pilot the aircraft personally or remotely. This is written by an American analyst, former pilot Philip Handleman in the publication 19fortyfive.

Back in 2016, the author of the article notes, a conference was held at which the then US Secretary of the Air Force, Deborah Lee James, announced the abandonment of the principle of consistent designation of bombers. Although the new bomber was supposed to receive the designation B-3, it was decided to call it the B-21, which hinted that we were facing an aircraft of the 21st century.

Interestingly, back in the late 1930s, in service with the American military aviation appeared bomber XB-21, developed by North American Aviation. It had a crew of six and was powered by two Pratt & Whitney Twin Hornet engines.
