Germany currently holds the rotating presidency of the G7 group, so it was the responsibility of German Federal Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach to host a meeting of G7 health ministers in Berlin, which has just concluded.
The meeting featured a pandemic simulation, with the conceit being that a new smallpox-like epidemic has suddenly emerged after someone was infected with the disease via a leopard bite.
Just in time for the monkeypox outbreak! What a coincidence, eh?
