100PercentFedUp.com Civil rights attorney, and radical Socialist Maya Wiley, is running to become the Democrat candidate for NYC Mayor in the primary on June 22.
The far-left anti-billionaire candidate who rails against the rich and, together with her biggest cheerleader, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, frequently speaks out against affluent New Yorkers and big money in politics has worked for organizations bankrolled by radical leftist billionaire George Soros for decades.
According to the Daily Mail, uber progressive candidate for Mayor of the Big Apple Maya Wiley has received $500,000 from George Soros that was funneled to 1199 for Maya, an independent expenditure group that supports Wiley’s bid for Mayor.
This contribution went on to be matched by a supporting healthcare workers union called 1199SEIU.
‘There is the belief that billionaires are bad for society — except for when they’re giving to my campaign,’ Doug Muzzio, a veteran political science professor at Baruch College, told the New York Post of the hypocrisy. ‘That’s the logic.’
Wiley has distanced herself from her financial backers by saying she can’t control who chooses to donate to her.
‘I can’t comment on independent expenditures because I’ve been very clear that I have no control over them,’ she told the Post.
Wiley’s links to Soros go back to the late 1990s when she worked for The Open Society Foundations, founded Soros. The non-profit is ‘the world’s largest private funder of independent groups working for justice, democratic governance, and human rights,’ according to its website.
A civil rights attorney by trade, Wiley has been very vocal in her support for socialist tax policies that wishfully hope to close the socioeconomic gap between the richest and poorest in the city, instead of pursuing policies that would actually help the working poor such as reducing immigration flows and staying out of the Paris Climate Accord.
So committed is Wiley towards the crusade against the mega-wealthy that she has had close ties to George Soros since the 1990s. The organizations she works for routinely receive funding from the infamous hedge-fund billionaire.
