AOC gets some surprise help in troubled Oversight Committee bid

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is facing opposition from her own party as she seeks to become the top Democrat on the powerful House Oversight Committee but she may have a surprising advocate in her corner.

The socialist diva is competing against Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) for the position which would give her a high-profile launching pad for a potential 2028 White House bid, although she’s facing stiff headwinds after an influential Democrat caucus just endorsed her opponent.

On Sunday’s edition of “Fox News Live,” Republican Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) explained to co-anchor Arthel Neville why AOC could be a vast improvement over the outgoing Democrat ranking member, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) who’s replacing Jerry Nadler on the Judiciary Committee.

In fact, you’re also a member of the AOC fan Club, I understand, and besides believing that you will have a good working relationship, what leadership qualities would make Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez an effective oversight Ranking member?” Neville asked…
