Arab media: British bulk carrier damaged by Houthi shelling sank

By Topwar

The civilian ship Rubymar, owned by a British company, was sailing in the Gulf of Aden and sank after being struck by the Yemeni Houthis. Arab media reported this.

According to Sky News Arabia, the British bulk carrier sank after a fire broke out due to rocket fire. The Ansar Allah movement previously said it carried out a “naval operation” by hitting a British ship with several anti-ship missiles.

Prior to this, the Houthis reported a rocket attack on an American warship and attacks on the merchant ships MV Star Nasia and MV Morning Tide (UK). That is, the military operation of the United States and Great Britain against Yemen not only did not “secure” shipping in the Red Sea, which was stated as the goal of the operation, but made the situation even more difficult – for Western vessels and ships in the first place.

Meanwhile, the EU authorities announced their decision to join the US and British operation in the Red Sea, or rather, to launch their own naval operation against the Yemeni Houthis.
