Over the past two years, a scandal of unprecedented proportions has unfolded in America and across the world. They found a catch in the federal legislation called the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) that empowers the government to finance a company’s costs for the development of vaccines and to rush them onto the market at breakneck speed without standard FDA approval that they are safe and effective. The U.S. could not finance and rush through the experimental and potentially lethal COVID-19 vaccines unless there were no safe and effective treatments already in place.
