WSJ Manhunt is under way for person of interest, with residents told to shelter in place
A shooter in Lewiston, Maine, killed at least 22 people late Wednesday, according to a federal law-enforcement official, and authorities were still on the hunt for a person of interest near the state’s second-largest city.
The massacre was the deadliest mass shooting of 2023 so far, according to the Gun Violence Archive, a nonprofit research group.
