Bloomberg: Israel changes plan for ground operation in Gaza under US pressure

Israel changed plans to conduct the ground part of Operation Iron Swords in the Gaza Strip at the request of the United States; Washington insisted on making changes. Bloomberg reports this.

The US influence on Israel turned out to be much deeper than expected; the Americans took on the role of a leading player in the Middle East and they liked it. Under US pressure, Israel was forced to change plans for the ground operation, but not cancel it. The operation will now take longer because Washington has imposed “limitations” on the number of potential casualties, several senior Israeli officials said on condition of anonymity.

The United States fears that Israel’s policy towards the Palestinians will lead to an even greater escalation of the conflict with the accession of third countries to it, as well as even greater involvement of Americans in it. If Iran enters into the conflict, the entire Middle East will go up in flames, and the war will move to a completely different level, where not at all handicraft weapons and rockets riveted together will be used.
