Are citizens around the world facing a return to the old days of draconian lockdowns enacted in reaction to a viral outbreak? A new report out of Belgium appears to confirm the first ever documented case of a nation implementing a mandatory Monkeypox quarantine.
The European nation had called for the forced quarantine after it had hosted a massive gay pride festival that had as many as 80,000 attendees.
âThose infected with the Monkeypox virus must be in isolation for 21 days,â the Dutch publication Standaard reported on a page translated from Dutch to English. âNot high-risk contacts, but theyâre best watching over any symptoms. In the meantime, virologist Marc Van Ranst wants to investigate whether the virus can spread airborne.â…
