The Biden administration recently attempted to redefine gender discrimination to include gender identity.
The move relied on a loose interpretation of a provision in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) which prohibits doctors and medical professionals from discriminating against people on the basis of gender.
The order would have effectively forced doctors to perform gender transition surgeries and give ‘gender-affirming care’ to minors even if it went against their conscience or they believed it was not a sound medical practice.
