White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Tuesday that former Columbia University student Mahmoud Khalil is in the process of being deported after he allegedly distributed “pro-Hamas propaganda flyers.”
Leavitt did not show evidence for the claim during her White House presser, saying she thought about doing so but that displaying such flyers was not “worth the dignity” of the press briefing room.
This comes after Department of Homeland Security officials arrested Khalil on Saturday over his alleged antisemitic conduct in the US, which President Trump said is “the first arrest of many to come.”

Khalil was notably a permanent resident who held a green card, and has an American wife who will soon give birth to their son, HuffPost reports. His arrest spurred protests against the government action, with demonstrators reportedly seen at Federal Plaza calling for Khalil’s release on Monday…
