BREAKING: US Attorney for Oregon rejects Portland mayor’s demand to remove deputized status of police officers

The Post Millennial

The Mayor of Portland, Ted Wheeler, demanded that the US Attorney for Oregon remove the deputized status of some Police Officers in Portland. This deputized status allows those who assault local cops to be federally charged.

In a scathing press release, Billy J. Williams, US Attorney for the District of Oregon, and Ross Burger, US Marshall for the District of Oregon, provide an explanation as to why the state needs to have deputized police officers and why the violence needs to stop.

Deputizing police essentially gives law enforcement the support of a federal system that will prosecute criminals who vandalize, steal and kill. Portland has seen nightly riots for months, with seemingly no end in sight. This cross-deputizing has allegedly assisted the police in keeping the communities safe and ensuring criminals do not merely end up right back on the street.

It also seemingly protects officers as the US Attorney says, “the federal deputation supports front line law enforcement officers and their families in a way they have no seen from city hall.”

Under the 14th Amendment of our Constitution, it clearly states that no one has the authority to deny EQUAL protection under the law. The mayor is calling for removing that protection and is in violation of the Amendment. It also states that any elected official who takes an oath of office to uphold the Constitution and violates it can NEVER hold another public office again.

The greatest part of the 14th Amendment is removing public officials who are in open rebellion against the government of the United States. And…it also states that anyone who is in open rebellion who’re citizens shall have their votes stripped from the ledger and not counted.

So what is Trump waiting for?
