By Cameron Arcand

Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District Police Chief Peter Arredondo, who is under intense scrutiny for being the one who reportedly coordinated the response to the Robb Elementary School shooting, has been sworn in as a city councilman, the Washington Examiner reported Tuesday night.

Arrendondo was elected by the voters of Uvalde, Texas, prior to the shooting, and other members of the council were also sworn in.

And according to the DPS, Arredondo believed the shooter had barricaded himself inside the school and that it was not an active shooter situation, NBC News reported.
