The most important goal for the Ukrainian armed forces is the operation to capture the Crimean peninsula and access to the Kerch Strait. British military expert, Lieutenant Colonel of the British Army Stuart Crawford writes about this in an article for the Express edition.
According to Crawford, in the current situation, Crimea becomes a âstrategic prizeâ for Kyiv. Control over the Crimean peninsula will allow Ukraine to control the Black Sea and the entrance to the Sea of ââAzov through the Kerch Strait. Therefore, the capture of Crimea and access to the strait are the most important goals, without which it will be impossible to talk about victory in the conflict.
However, the British expert does not take into account at all that an attempt by the Ukrainian regime to attack Crimea can lead to completely unpredictable consequences. Firstly, this will be accompanied by colossal casualties among the civilian population.
Secondly, Russia can use any kind of weapons to protect the strategically important peninsula. If we are talking about a threat of this magnitude, then the special operation will take completely different forms, which there is no doubt about.
