CDC officially updates hepatitis B policy, recommending ‘individual-based decision-making’ for mothers

The CDC updated its hepatitis B guidance, recommending individualized decision-making for newborn vaccination timing instead of a universal birth-dose approach. The agency still advises vaccination within 24 hours when a mother is hepatitis B positive or her status is unknown.
