Border Hawk Chicago school officials have ordered a new dress code for students who participate in Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) programs, citing “anxiety” over the federal government’s crackdown on illegal immigration and lawlessness in the city, according to reports.
Windy City watchdog Chicago Contrarian shared an edited screenshot of a message apparently sent on Wednesday by Chicago Public Schools ordering cadets to not be seen in Navy Service Uniforms (NSU) in public.
“All cadets will wear khaki pants and the [redacted] issued polo” on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, the memo stipulates.
“All cadets will wear [redacted] issued PT gear” on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Cadets have been instructed to not wear NSUs on their way to or from school, nor outside of school, until further notice.
“At this time of increased anxiety due to operations of the Federal Government in and near the city of Chicago, it is extremely important that we as representatives of the US Military in the Chicago Public Schools are vigilant regarding the safety and security of the cadets entrusted to our care and supervision,” the memo states.
“The reality of this situation is that there is no way for the general public to distinguish JROTC cadets from Army National Guard, Soldiers, Sailors and Marines when they are in uniform and out among the public.”
This isn't just uncalled for. It's hysteria.
